Prometheus Short Story

Prometheus’ Revenge against Zeus”

When Heracles freed Prometheus from his torment, by killing the eagle that eats his liver and breaking his chains, Prometheus thanked him very much. But when Heracles turned his back, Prometheus got a big boulder and smashed it into Heracles head, knocking him out. He took Heracles sword and his Nemean Lion armor. Prometheus then planned his revenge against Zeus by using the Aegis shield to turn him into stone. He was very angry at Zeus.
Luckily, Achelous(the river god) was nearby. Prometheus asked him where Mount Olympus is. Achelous didn’t want to help him and tried drowning him in the river but when he heard Prometheus knocked out Heracles, the hero who took his left horn as a prize, he gladly agreed. He said to trick Aphrodite into telling him by making her fall in love with the handsome hero Endomyion, who is in an eternal slumber thanks to Zeus. Prometheus offered Heracles’ Nemean Lion armor in exchange for his daughters, the sirens. Achelous happily approved of this and gave him 3 of his daughters the sirens and a horn that imitates the sirens voices called the siren’s horn.
Mt. Latmus was not very far away. He found Endomyion sleeping like a hibernating bear in the winter. Prometheus ordered the sirens to sing loudly to wake up Endomyion with their beautiful voices. Endomyion didn’t even move a muscle. Prometheus got angry and threw Endomyion’s body in the water and told the sirens to sing again. Endomyion finally woke up with a gasp and was searching for the surface since he was underwater. 2 days later when the sirens have finally done their part of the deal, thanked Prometheus and went off into the ocean to drown sailors, Endomyion agreed with Prometheus plan because he was also angry at Zeus for putting him into an eternal sleep.
Prometheus threw a message in a bottle in the ocean hoping Poseidon will give it to Aphrodite. Poseidon read the letter and due to his hatred with Zeus and Athena, gladly gives it to Aphrodite. Aphrodite falls in love with Endomyion and follows what the message says. She stole Athena’s Aegis shield while she is asleep and went off to find Endomyion. Endomyion asked her where Mt. Olympus is and asked if he could “borrow” Athena’s shield. Aphrodite gladly agrees and gives the location of Mt. Olympus and gives them the shield. She then founds out that Selene(titan of the moon) is already in a relationship with Endomyion. Aphrodite was heartbroken at first but she was happy afterwards when she realized the love between Endomyion and Selene. She made Endomyion immortal. Endomyion and Prometheus thanked Aphrodite very much.
Prometheus successfully climbs Mt. Olympus because he is either very wise or a good mountain climber. Zeus happens to be in the throne room alone. Prometheus blew his sirens horn which lured Zeus out of the room. Prometheus then showed the Aegis shield into Zeus eyes. Then Prometheus wasn’t actually very wise at all. Medusa’s “turn people into stone” power only works on mortals. Zeus didn’t even flinch but he wasn’t angry either. He was very impressed with Prometheus awesome plan. He asked for forgiveness for tying him into a rock and sending an eagle to eat his liver and he made Prometheus the god of knowledge, wisdom and revenge. Prometheus was very happy and thanked Zeus for his kindness. He lived his immortal life in peace. THE END.
